The council approved a $500,000 contract with Zencity Technologies for community perception surveying by a vote of 8-5.

The council unanimously referred back to the Public Health and Safety Committee a ~$300,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to implement prevention strategies for countering violent extremism using public health methods.

Two new ordinances related to rideshare workers were referred to the Business, Inspections, Housing, and Zoning Committee by a vote of 10-3.

Following closed session, the council rejected a proposed $150,000 workers’ compensation settlement for MPD officer Andrew Bittell, who was involved in the beating of Jaleel Stallings, and referred the issue back to staff for further review.
